Capability Lab Commercial Licensing

Capability Lab is made available publicly under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0.

The public license is intentionally a noncommercial grant. If a commercial use requires copyright or patent rights that are not granted by the public license, obtain a separate written commercial license from the Capability Lab licensor before exercising those rights.

There is no automatic commercial-license exception based on:

  • company revenue;
  • employee or contractor count;
  • startup stage;
  • funding status;
  • whether Capability Lab is customer-facing or used internally;
  • whether the software is modified or used unchanged.

Do not assume that being a small company or early-stage project creates commercial license rights that are not present in the public license.

Case-by-case licenses

The licensor may choose to offer a separate commercial license on terms appropriate to a specific use. That may include free or reduced-cost terms for selected independent developers, early-stage projects, research-aligned products, or other cases at the licensor's discretion.

Those possibilities are not automatic public grants. Commercial license rights from the Capability Lab licensor exist only when they are granted in a separate written agreement or other explicit written permission from the licensor.

Rights provided by law

The PolyForm Noncommercial license expressly preserves fair-use rights that may exist under applicable law. This commercial-licensing overview does not narrow fair use or other rights that applicable law provides without permission from the licensor.

Requesting a commercial license

Contact the repository owner, @kymuco, through GitHub to request a commercial licensing discussion.

If using a public GitHub issue to make initial contact, do not include confidential business, security, personal, pricing, or contract information. Ask for a private channel first.

A useful initial request can identify:

  • the organization or project;
  • the intended use of Capability Lab;
  • whether the use is internal, embedded in a product, offered as a service, or redistributed;
  • the expected deployment scope;
  • any timeline that matters.

What this page is not

This page is an overview of the project's licensing model. It does not replace the public LICENSE, does not itself grant commercial rights, and is not a commercial license agreement.

If a separate commercial agreement is signed, that agreement controls the commercial rights it grants.
